Summary
The impact of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) on the dielectric and conductivity properties of nematic liquid crystal 4-methoxybenzylidene-4′-butylaniline (MBBA) has been studied. It was proven that the additive of SWCNTs with focus of 0.3% results in a rise within the order parameter of MBBA. On this case, the clearing level is raised, the longitudinal part of the dielectric permittivity decreases whereas the transverse part will increase in addition to dielectric anisotropy. The percolation impact promotes to the dominance of hopping electron conductivity over ionic conductivity, resulting in a rise in electrical conductivity.
